日和着物会
Biyori Kimono‑kai is a kimono circle of people who celebrate the beauty of kimono through connection, respect, and joy.
Kimono Kai began with a simple wish: to create a warm, welcoming space for people who love kimono, or are simply curious about them. Away from formality and rules, we gather to enjoy the beauty of kimono in daily life — through seasonal events, workshops, and shared experiences.
What started as small get-togethers has grown into a circle of friendship, connection, and cultural appreciation.
What does “Biyori / 日和” mean?
In Japanese, biyori means “a perfect day for …” (e.g., picnic‑biyori, kimono‑biyori).
Our wish is simple: more kimono‑biyori days in everyday life.

Our Ethos
Kimono in everyday life.
We learn together, help each other, and enjoy — with respect for tradition and an open heart.
日々の暮らしに、着物を。 学び合い、助け合い、たのしむ。
—伝統への敬意と、ひらかれた心。和光同塵
What we do?
Monthly “Kimono de Odekake”
Once a month, we go out together in kimono. Whether it’s visiting a museum, walking along the Rhine, enjoying a café, or exploring town — wearing kimono makes these moments special.
Classes & Workshops
Learn how to wear kimono comfortably, understand seasonal rules, and discover different styles in a relaxed and supportive setting.
Community & Friendship
Connect with others who share your passion for kimono. Our group is about having fun, learning together, and creating memories.
About the Host
Yen, a tea ceremony student, has studied the Kimono Sunao style of kitsuke and learned a variety of techniques which she now shares with the club — not as an instructor above others, but as a fellow learner, inviting everyone to explore kimono with curiosity and joy.

Where Everyone Belongs
We are open to everyone — longtime wearers, beginners, and those simply curious about Japanese culture. No experience is needed; only the willingness to join, to learn, and to share the joy of kimono in good company.
We see kimono not only as a tradition of the past, but as a living part of today. As our community grows, we look forward to hosting more gatherings, creating new collaborations, and weaving connections that carry this culture forward with sincerity and care.

We invite you to join us — to put on a kimono, bring your curiosity, and be part of Kimono Kai. Together we create moments of beauty, respect, and connection that stay long after each gathering ends.
